SINGER Lucy Spraggan has been ordered by The X Factor to haul her hit song off iTunes just as it looked set to oust Little Mix as No1.
The diktat was issued after a sudden RULE CHANGE — as the 20-year-old’s self-penned track rocketed to No2.Last night ITV1 viewers wowed by the singer on Saturday’s show accused jobsworths of frantically sparing Little Mix’s blushes.
The girl band, who won last year’s X Factor and released their song Wings on Monday, are tipped to be a huge money-spinner for show boss Simon Cowell.
Tina Anderson, 26 — among those who rushed to try to download Lucy’s song Last Night (Beer Fear) — said: “It is really unfair on her fans.
“In the singer-songwriter category on iTunes she was already No1.”
The office worker, from Hinckley, Leics, added: “Lucy is definitely better than Little Mix.”
Lucy, from Sheffield, was told to take her album featuring the song off the download site — and that ALL X Factor contestants faced a similar ban.
She told fans on the web: “Oh dear — not my call to make. Get it while you can.”
The show insisted the new rule was so all the wannabes got the same exposure.
Lucy said: “I’ve obliged because you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do to get somewhere in life.”
